Unfortunately, the natural heritage and rural character are at risk because Livingston is the fastest growing county in southeastern Michigan. According to 2000 census data, Livingston County ranks first among Michigan counties in terms of percent population change since 1990.

The Livingston Land Conservancy is a private, non-profit 501(c)( 3) tax-exempt organization. All contributions are deductible to the full extent of the law.
Become a Member
Your gift membership will be a great boost to our land protection efforts. The benefits of membership to the Livingston Land Conservancy include our quarterly newsletters, participation in our field trips, and other LLC events. Our membership levels are:

Annual Donations
By renewing your membership annually you will be supporting our land protection work with private landowners and communities through conservation easements, land acquisition, and local government planning.
Your annual contribution will help fund: baseline documentation, education and outreach to local communities, landowners, and government.

Land Acquisition Fund Donations
The Land Acquisition Fund first began with a donation from First National Bank. The donation is being utilized to initiate a land acquisition campaign that focuses on the acquisition of key properties within the Conservancy's service area. Within the organization's service area, LLC determines which properties should be protected based on their natural resource value, whether they are already linked to protected lands, and if they are threatened by development or change of ownership.

LLC Endowment Fund Donations
A local private foundation has established the Livingston Land Conservancy Endowment Fund of the Community Foundation for Southeastern Michigan. Distributions from this Endowment Fund will be used for the general charitable purposes of the Livingston Land Conservancy (LLC), which includes land acquisition, land stewardship, education, and membership development.

Memorial Donation
Memorial gifts make a wonderful tribute to friends or family who loved the land. We will also notify those who care of your thoughtful gesture.

Stewardship Fund Donations
The Livingston Land Conservancy's Stewardship Fund is an account designed to protect properties with conservation easements. The fund's purpose is two fold: to generate income to cover annual monitoring expenses, including visiting properties, and to defend easements in the event of legal challenges.

Employee Matching Gift Donations
Many individual donors are able to multiply their personal gifts by securing a matching gift from their employers. Ask your company if they have a matching gift program and if so, what types of charitable organizations they will support.
